About the Artist…
I'm currently creating work at 80 Fountain street in Pawtucket, RI. I create functional work in addition to exploring themes of place and home though sculpture works. You will also find me working with Keane’s Wood-Fired Catering booking and managing events pouring a latte at New Harvest Coffee or at Anyhow studio teaching introduction to hand building.
I was born in the Mojave Desert of California, and grew up in Newport, RI. I have always loved making with my hands, spending much of my time in high school and first year of college investigating screen printing and book arts before stumbling into the ceramics studio. I began these studies at CCRI (Warwick, RI) and continued at OCAC (Portland, OR) then I worked my way back to New England to earn a degree from UMass Dartmouth (South Dartmouth, MA).
I have also been a resident artist at Red Lodge Clay Center (2017, Red Lodge, MT), The Steel Yard (2017, Providence, RI), and Worcester Center for Craft (2018 - 2019, Worcester, MA)
I began pinch potting wares while I was at Red Lodge Clay Center. It was the first time since 2007 that I pinched a form and it was great to explore this simple method of making with all the knowledge I had gained since my first pinch pot. Surrounded by other skilled makers I gained insight into my aesthetic and process. I have continued to explore the possibilities, one pinch at a time.
